Life’s hard. We have fallen. How could a good, just God accept someone so far away from Him. Someone that knowingly disappoints Him all the time. Someone that knowingly turns away or speaks falsely against Him. But then they come back when they need something. And then after pursuing Him for a little while, turn away again. Yes God is just. Even though He did not pour His righteous wrath on us, He had to pour it on someone. Jesus was sent to earth. Became human making Himself fully dependent on parents. Letting Himself be tempted. Letting Himself be tortured and murdered for the sake of love. He died. Because He was in love. But He conquered death! BECAUSE HE IS IN LOVE! WITH YOU! God is in love with you! Let that sink in for a moment. It’s true. It’s all that really matters. He is in love with you! He doesn’t take into account any ANY of the things you have done or ANY of the thoughts you’ve had or ANY bad thing you’ve ever thought or done. Because He loves you. He desires to dwell with you. And not only that! He desires to dwell IN you! In the Old Testament, King Solomon built a temple for God. “The house that I am to build will be great, for our God is greater than all” (2 Chronicles 2:5). But, “what man can build (God) a house, since heaven, even highest heaven, cannot contain Him” (2:6)? God is so big!! So God dwelled in this temple, but He wasn’t content with living in a building. So, at the right time, He sent His Son to die and defeat death so that His Spirit could dwell somewhere He believes to be better. You! He would rather live inside of YOU than in a building! Get this! The temple was made with the purest of gold! And there were things in the temple that were made with gold, silver, bronze, and iron. This beautiful temple made with the finest gold was not fit for the King of kings. He wanted you. So He did EVERYTHING He had to do to make that happen! Now it’s up to you. He needs you to invite Him in. He will not invade you. He desires fellowship. Intimacy. He loves you! He calls you more beautiful than any of the finest metals, than any of the finest jewels. You mean so much more to Him than you know! He has made you in His image. And, if you let Him, He will transform you “into the same image (of His glory) from one degree of glory to another” (2 Corinthians 3:18). He calls you beautiful! Who are you to disagree?
